Mojca Performs for WDR Funkhausorchester 70th Anniversary Concert
On November 18, Mojca performs with the WDR Funkhausorchester in a concert celebrating the orchestra’s 70th anniversary. She is joined by conductor Wayne Marshall, honorary conductor Helmuth Froschauer, and presenter Katrin Brand, singing music from Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Bernstein’s Peter Pan, and more.
On November 10, Mojca performs at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem), the most famous Lutheran mass for the dead. The performance, led by conductor Josep Pons, also features bass-baritone José Antonio López and the Chorus and Orchestra of Gran Teatre del Liceu.
Mojca has recently been selected to receive a scholarship from the German Academy of Rome Villa Massimo (Deutsche Akademie Rom Villa Massimo). This scholarship is offered to artists who have exceptional achievements and qualifications in the fields of fine arts, architecture, literature and music. Mojca will work with the Academy on new artistic projects from March 5 – April 22, 2018.

On October 14 & 15, Mojca Erdman performs “Lulu Suite” in a concert with the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo. Led by conductor Tatsuya Shimono, the evening features a combination of Mozart and Berg. Mojca is joined by violinist Clara-Jumi Kang, who will peform Berg’s Violin Concerto.
On September 14, 16, & 17, Mojca Erdmann performs An Evening of Dvorák & Mahler with the Houston Symphony Orchestra. Led by conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada, these concerts mark the beginning of 2017-2018 Classical Series at Houston Symphony Orchestra. In support of the Houston community following Hurricane Harvey, the public has been invited to the concert free of charge.
Featuring Dvorák’s Te Deum and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, the program perfectly showcases the talents of the German soprano, who has been praised for the “filigree delicacy” of her voice, which spins “a silver net of glittering jewels” (Opera News).

Mojca begins an eventful fall on September 14, 16, & 17, joining conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada and the Houston Symphony Orchestra for An Evening of Dvorák & Mahler, which features Dvorák’s Te Deum and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. Later in September, Mojca sings in Bonn, joining the Delian Quartet for Fervour in the Heart, a concert of Monteverdi madrigals and Schubert and Wagner lieder performed on September 21.
In October, the German soprano travels to Japan for two concert performances (October 14 & 15) of Berg’s “Lulu Suite” as part of an evening of Mozart and Berg with conductor Tatsuya Shimono, violinist Clara-Jumi Kang and NHK Symphony Orchestra.
The fall season continues with a concert performance of A German Requiem by Johannes Brahms on November 10 at Gran Teatre del Liceu. Conductor Josep Pons leads the Orquestra Simfònica i Cor del Gran Teatre del Liceu in one of the most famous masses for the dead in the Lutheran tradition. Bass baritone José Antonio López also sings.
Following Mojca’s performance in Barcelona, Mojca sings in Cologne for the WDR Funkhausorchester Anniversary Concert on November 18.
Mojca concludes 2017 with a concert on December 14 with the Kuss Quartet at Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ in Amsterdam. The evening includes works by Ludwig van Beehoven, Felix Mendlessohn-Bartholdy and the world premiere of Aribert Reimann’s adaptation of Theodor Kircher’s “Six songs by poems by Heinrich Heine”, a piece Reimann developed specifically for Mojca.

Join Mojca live at the Konzerthaus Freiburg on July 8 in a performance of Luigi Nono’s “Il canto sospeso” with the SWR Symphonieorchester. The concert will be broadcast live at 8:00PM CEST on SWRclassic.de and on SWR2.
Mojca sings alongside Jenny Carlstedt, Robin Tritschler, the SWR Experimental studio, and Vokalensemble, under the direction of Peter Rundel and Michael Alber.

On May 22, Mojca Erdmann performs in the Stars and Rising Stars Festival at Munich’s Künstlerhaus am Lenbachplatz. The German soprano is featured on a program with tenor Karol Kozlowski, pianist Niu Niu, and clarinetist Wooyun Kim.
Mojca sings Schubert songs with the Philharmonische Solisten München and Wooyun Kim, as well as selections from Don Giovanni and Mozart’s “Ch’io mi scordi di te? … Non temer, amato bene.” Mojca can be heard singing Mozart songs on her album “Mozart’s Garden,” available to stream here.
