Der Ring des Nibelungen—Featuring Mojca Erdmann—Wins ECHO Klassik Award

The Metropolitan Opera’s DVD set of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen was named a winner of the 2013 ECHO Klassik Award for Music DVD Recording of the Year. Previously this box set (which includes a making-of documentary titled Wagner’s Dream) won the Grammy Award earlier this year.

The performances, premiered at the Met between 2010 and 2012 and presented by the Met in HD, feature Mojca Erdmann as the Waldvogel, her “verdant soprano [making] her an ideal Forest Bird” (Opera News).

The ECHO Klassik award ceremony will take place on October 6, 2013 at the Konzerthaus Berlin and will be broadcast by ZDF.
