Mojca and harpist Xavier de Maistre team up for Graz concert

On May 23, Mojca Erdmann and French harpist Xavier de Maistre team up for a duo concert that showcases signature art songs as well as original compositions for solo harp. Accompanied by Xavier, the German soprano will sing several lieder by Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn, and Richard Strauss. Among the many works included on the program, they perform Schubert’s “Gretchen am Spinnrade,” a moving musical portrait set to words from Goethe’s Faust. Mojca will also perform songs by Richard Strauss, including such works as “Ständchen,” “Die Nacht,” and “Morgen.” Xavier de Maistre will complement Mojca’s program with solo performances of Godefroid’s set of variations on the popular tune “Carnaval de Venise” and “La Mandoline” by 19th-century composer Elias Parish Alvars.
