Mojca to star in Le nozze di Figaro at the Metropolitan Opera

Following her October 2011 debut at the Metropolitan Opera last season, German soprano Mojca Erdmann returns to the iconic New York house this month to star as Susanna in Mozart’s iconic opera Le nozze di Figaro. The first collaboration between Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte, Le nozze di Figaro captures la folle giornata (or “day of madness”) in the Almaviva home, offering a wildly humorous and insightful look at love, promise, and desire.

David Robertson will lead an outstanding cast that includes Ildar Abdrazakov as Susanna’s cunning husband Figaro, Christine Schäfer as the pageboy Cherubino, Maija Kovalevska as the Countess, and Gerald Finley as the infamous Count Almaviva. Mojca’s Met performances take place October 26 & 29 and November 3, 7, 10, 13 & 17.
