Alte Oper Frankfurt features Mojca Erdmann in month-long ‘Auftakt’ series

This month the Alte Oper Frankfurt features soprano Mojca Erdmann in a series of performances, as part of the German house’s month-long ‘Auftakt’ series. Her Frankfurt appearances begin Friday, September 14 with an intimate lieder recital with pianist Gerold Huber, Mojca’s frequent musical collaborator. Their Mozart-Saal performance will include art songs by Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss.

On Sunday, September 23, violinist Renaud Capuçon and pianist Jérôme Ducros join Mojca for a collaborative recital that features the ensemble in performances of Handel arias and Schumann’s Sechs Gedichte und Requiem. The program will also include chamber music by Mozart and Strauss.

To round out her Alte Oper Frankfurt residency, Mojca will be the featured soloist with the SWR Sinfonieorchester on September 27. With François-Xavier Roth at the podium, she will sing Wolfgang Rihm’s Fremdes Licht, a musical setting of poetry by Clemens Brentano.
