NDR Sinfonieorchester concerts showcase German orchestral songs and operetta

From June 6 to 9, Mojca Erdmann is the featured guest of the NDR Sinfonieorchester, singing orchestral songs and German operetta by Johannes Brahms and Johann Strauss in Hamburg and Lübeck. Mojca solos with the German orchestra under the baton of Thomas Hengelbrock in Strauss’s playful Frühlingsstimmen-Walzer and Brahms’s stirring Liebesliederwalzer. The German soprano’s performances with the NDR Sinfonieorchester also include Adele’s couplet from Strauss’s operetta Die Fledermaus.

The concerts, which take place on June 6 and 9 at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and June 7 in Lübeck, feature staples of the orchestral repertoire, including Brahms’s Akademische Festouvertüre (‘Academic Festival Overture’), the overture to Die Fledermaus, and selections from Brahms’s Ungarische Tänze (‘Hungarian Dances’).
