Mojca Erdmann opens Bilkent Symphony Orchestra’s 2016-17 season


This October, Mojca Erdmann performs at the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra’s season opening concert in Ankara, Turkey. The German soprano joins conductor Avi Ostrowksy for an evening of Mozart and Strauss, highlighting her voice which “was made for Mozart” (The Times). The program includes Mozart’s “Quando avran fine omai,” “Come scoglio,” Strauss’s “Ich wollt’ ein Sträusslein binden,” “Allerseelen,” and “Standchen.” The orchestra also performs the overture from Cosi Fan Tutte and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 in E Minor. Mojca guests with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra on October 8 at the Bilkent Concert Hall.

Following her engagement in Turkey, Mojca returns to the works of Mozart singing the role of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Conducted by Josep Pons, the production features direction by Lluís Pasqual and also stars Guyla Orendt, Olga Mykytenko, Kyle Ketelsen, Anna Bonitatibus, Gemma Coma-Alabert, and Maria Riccarda Wesseling. Mojca performs at the Barcelona theater from November 7 through 19.
